Wike: Rivers Coalition to Strategize for 2027 Elections

Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State, stated that the Rivers 'Rainbow Coalition' will strategically align ahead of the 2027 general elections to leverage its political strength. Wike made these remarks on Monday during an inspection of ongoing infrastructure projects in Abuja, as preparations intensify to mark the third anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.

He noted that the coalition will assess political realities across the state to make informed electoral decisions. Wike distanced himself from controversies surrounding the screening of aspirants by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, asserting that he is not involved in the process and does not have knowledge of the outcomes.

Additionally, he addressed infrastructure development in the Federal Capital Territory, expressing satisfaction with the progress of major projects, including the installation of streetlights and the completion of road projects by contractors. Wike commended the quality of work delivered by contractors and acknowledged the challenges of tax compliance among residents.
