Six Sokoto Youths Die in Zamfara Road Accident

On Monday, a tragic road accident occurred in Talata Mafara, Zamfara State, resulting in the deaths of six youths from Rabah Local Government Area in Sokoto State. The victims were traveling in a commercial vehicle back to Kano for Sallah celebrations, having sought livelihood opportunities.

Malam Abubakar Chibau, the chairman of Rabah Local Government, confirmed the incident and stated that the accident involved 18 passengers. He coordinated with his counterpart in Talata Mafara for the evacuation of the victims and support for the injured.

The injured passengers were taken to Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital in Sokoto for treatment, while the deceased were returned to Rabah for burial late Monday night. The funeral prayer was attended by hundreds of sympathizers on Tuesday morning.

Malam Basiru, a grieving father, described his son Jamilu as a hardworking trader and the sole provider for his family, which includes two wives and six children. The loss has been devastating for the families involved.
