Sanwo-Olu to Receive Global Governance Prize in 2026

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has been awarded the 2026 Global Transformation and Good Governance Prize by the Millennium Excellence Award USA. This recognition follows a rigorous selection process that highlighted the significant achievements and developmental progress of Lagos State under his leadership.

The award will be conferred during a ceremony on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Warner Theatre in Washington D.C., under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene of Kumasi, who will present the honor alongside Her Royal Highness Lady Julia, Queen Consort. The Millennium Excellence Awards USA aims to honor individuals of African heritage and global contributors in various fields.

Governor Sanwo-Olu is expected to deliver a keynote address focused on attracting investment to Lagos State and will engage in discussions aimed at strengthening economic ties with diaspora communities.
