Kuje Chairman's Comments on APC Support Clarified

Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo, the Chairman of Kuje Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), faced backlash over comments suggesting that residents who do not support the All Progressives Congress (APC) should vacate the area. His aide, Tumaka Danlami Stephen, clarified that Shekwolo's remarks were misinterpreted and aimed at encouraging support for the APC in light of ongoing development projects in Kuje.

The chairman's comments, captured in a viral video, were meant to express appreciation for the developments under President Bola Tinubu and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. Tumaka emphasized that Shekwolo respects residents' rights to vote independently and intended to mobilize support for the ruling party based on the benefits residents have experienced.

He reiterated that the chairman's message was a political appeal rather than a threat, asserting that it was directed at the youth and aimed at fostering appreciation for the government's efforts in the council.
