SDP Strengthens Reforms Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) convened its second National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, where it expressed commitment to unifying the party and implementing reforms ahead of the 2027 general elections. Chairman Professor Sadiq Abubakar Gomb noted that the party has made significant progress over the past four months, including holding two NEC meetings and conducting a national convention to elect Princ Adewol Adebayo as its presidential candidate.

The party reaffirmed its commitment to the rule of law and announced that disciplinary actions against former officials were taken following due process. Professor Gomb urged members to remain united and strengthen grassroots mobilization.

Vice Chairman Senator Ugochukwu Uba emphasized the importance of the party's manifesto focusing on welfare and security for Nigerians. The party's leadership, including Dr.

Olu Agunloy and Mr. Solomon Akwashiki, expressed confidence in winning the 2027 elections and called for greater participation from women in leadership roles.
