SDP Resolves Leadership Crisis, Prepares for 2027 Elections

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), led by Prof. Abubakar Umar Sadiq Gombe, announced on Wednesday that it has resolved all internal leadership crises and is united in preparation for the 2027 general elections. Prof. Gombe stated that all disciplinary and constitutional processes were conducted transparently, eliminating internal discord.

The party has enhanced its internal democracy through nationwide training programs for officials. He described the SDP as the best political alternative for Nigerians, promising transparent leadership and accountability.

Prof. Gombe revealed that former national officers accused of financial misconduct are facing criminal prosecution, with investigations revealing significant financial misappropriation. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has recognized the current leadership, including Prof. Gombe as National Chairman, Dr. Olu Agunloye as National Secretary, Hajiya Maryam Majidadi Batubo as National Treasurer, and Anete Beridoo as National Financial Secretary.

Recent Supreme Court judgments have affirmed the party's internal disciplinary actions, and a Federal High Court has recognized the SDP's Osun State governorship candidate.
