SDP Commits to Empower Women in Political Roles

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has pledged to enhance the roles of women in political appointments, elections, and party affairs. This commitment was made by the National Chairman, Professor Sadiq Gombe, during a strategic meeting in Abuja with the national and state women leaders of the SDP.

Gombe, represented by Senator Ugochukwu Uba, stated that the SDP is undergoing reforms aimed at strengthening its structures for future political activities. He assured women members of their rightful place in political appointments and party administration, with the forthcoming manifesto including policies to promote women's participation.

Ambassador Hajiya Sa’adatu Abdullahi, the National Speaker of the SDP Women Parliament, urged women leaders to intensify grassroots mobilization and build strong structures ahead of future elections. She emphasized that effective political participation requires organization, strategy, and sustained engagement, calling for women to establish functional structures across various levels of governance.
