Abuja Security Agencies Address Barricades and Protests

On Thursday, security agencies in Abuja addressed concerns regarding heavy personnel deployment and barricades across parts of the city center. CSP Anieti Iniedu explained that these measures are routine and aimed at maintaining law and order in response to an increase in protests within the Federal Capital Territory.

The presence of barricades has caused significant traffic delays for thousands of motorists and civil servants. Iniedu reassured the public that there is no security threat that warrants panic, emphasizing that the joint operations are intended to ensure public safety.

The Nigerian Police Force is expanding its security strategy beyond intelligence-led policing to include collaboration with local communities. Kingsley Amako, the National Coordinator of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, noted the importance of robust intelligence gathering to combat evolving security threats.

He urged media engagement with security institutions for clarification when needed.
