Security Forces Neutralize Bandits, Rescue Kidnapped Man

On Tuesday night, at approximately 10:15 PM, an attack by suspected bandits on Aboki Community in Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State, resulted in the death of a resident named Musa and the kidnapping of businessman Tuhkur Sanni. The assailants opened fire indiscriminately, causing panic among residents.

Community leaders alerted security agencies via the Kaiama Bokobaru emergency communication platform, prompting a swift response from military personnel and local vigilantes. During the ensuing gun battle, three of the four bandits were neutralized, and Tuhkur Sanni was rescued, although he sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, confirmed the incident, stating that Musa was shot dead and Tuhkur Sanni was rescued by a joint team of police, military, and vigilantes. Local resident Aliyyu Ahmad noted that the attack highlighted ongoing security concerns in the area, exacerbated by its proximity to Kainji Lake National Park and the Republic of Benin.
