Fubara Stresses Security's Role in Prosperity at Army Day

During a gala night on Sunday to celebrate the 2026 Nigerian Army Day held in Port Harcourt, Governor Siminalayi Fubara asserted that security is the cornerstone of a prosperous society. He highlighted the indispensable role of peace and stability for sustainable development.

Fubara paid tribute to fallen military personnel and acknowledged their sacrifices for Nigeria's unity and democratic growth. He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to collaborating with the Nigerian Army and security agencies to enhance peace and economic growth in River State.

Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, noted that the celebrations provided an opportunity to strengthen public support and civil-military relations. He emphasized the necessity of citizen cooperation for achieving national security objectives.

The Nigerian Army undertook several community projects, including renovations of schools and provision of solar power, to improve local welfare. Shaibu assured continued collaboration with local communities to create a secure environment for socio-economic development.
