Senate Leader Bamidele Aids Ekiti Rainstorm Victims

On February 11, 2026, a severe rainstorm struck the Ekiti Central Senatorial District, resulting in significant destruction and leaving hundreds homeless. In response, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele collaborated with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to deliver multimillion-naira relief materials to affected residents.

The distribution took place in various local government areas, including Irepodun, Ado, Efon, and Ijero. Bamidele, representing the district in the National Assembly, expressed his sympathy for the victims and emphasized the importance of providing temporary relief while they rebuild their homes.

NEMA's Director General, Zubaida Umar, commended Bamidele for his prompt action in seeking emergency assistance and urged residents to take precautionary measures against future disasters.
