Arise Rejects APC Primary Results, Seeks Tinubu's Help

Ayodele Arise, a former senator representing Ekiti North, has publicly rejected the results of the APC primary elections held in Ekiti North, which declared Cyril Fasuyi as the winner. Arise, along with other aspirants Dipo Bamisaye and Dare Owolabi, alleged that the electoral process was manipulated and fraudulent.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, Arise described the primary exercise as a sham that undermines democratic principles. He called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the controversy surrounding the election results.

Arise emphasized the need for the APC to overcome challenges associated with internal democracy and expressed confidence that the party's appeal panel would fairly consider the grievances raised by the aggrieved aspirants. He criticized the influence of state governors in party primaries, stating that it often undermines fair competition.

The ongoing disputes within the APC add to a growing list of post-primary disagreements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
