Gobir Supports Military Action Against Terrorism in Sokoto

Engineer Abdullahi Ibrahim Gobir, a former senator and member of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has expressed his support for the renewed military offensive against terrorists and bandits in Sokoto East and other areas of Sokoto State. In a statement issued on Tuesday, Gobir highlighted the ongoing attacks on rural communities as a significant threat to lives, agriculture, and economic activities.

He commended the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Community Guards Corps for their intensified operations against criminal elements. Gobir stressed the importance of credible intelligence from local communities to support military operations, urging residents to report suspicious activities.

He condemned individuals who assist terrorists and bandits, warning that such actions endanger lives and community safety. Gobir called for cooperation among traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community heads to strengthen intelligence networks and maintain vigilance for lasting peace in affected areas.
