SERAP Demands Certified Tax Laws from Tinubu Amid Allegations of Alterations

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has written to Bola Tinubu, requesting certified copies of tax laws and seeking clarification on the authenticity of tax bills passed by the National Assembly. SERAP alleges alterations to tax bills without proper legislative approval, urging an independent panel to investigate.

The organization warns of legal action if the government fails to comply within seven days. The National Assembly is accused of unlawfully modifying tax bills, with lawmaker Abdussamad Dasuki raising concerns over discrepancies between parliamentary approval and gazetted versions.
