Kano Stakeholders Unite for Food Security and Jobs

On Wednesday, stakeholders in Kano State gathered at the Tahir Guest Palace for a bi-annual engagement meeting organized by Self Help Africa. The meeting aimed to strengthen the food system, expand agricultural value chains, and promote sustainable employment.

Key participants included Hajara Mohammad, who presented updates on major interventions such as the inline chlorination project and the WS4H program, which focuses on improving access to safe drinking water and sanitation. Aminu Musa Idri emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to enhance access to quality potable water and sanitation services.

Mustapha Hussaini Hassan, Deputy Director of the Kano State Ministry of Water Resources, urged for community ownership of projects to ensure long-term sustainability. The meeting underscored the need for stronger partnerships to improve public health, food security, and economic opportunities, particularly for women and youth in Kano State.
