Shehu Sani Critiques PDP Faction's Support for Jonathan

Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, criticized the faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) that has adopted former President Goodluck Jonathan as their candidate for the 2027 presidential race. Sani described this development as politically motivated, suggesting that the faction's support for Jonathan is insincere.

He noted that Jonathan's potential candidacy was previously rejected when the party was in a stronger position for the 2023 elections. Sani further argued that the current move does not provide Jonathan with a genuine opportunity to return to power but rather serves to revive weakened political structures.

He expressed that the faction's intentions are more about facilitating a political agenda than genuinely supporting Jonathan's leadership. This commentary comes amid growing reactions to Jonathan's candidacy from the PDP faction led by Kabiru Turaki.
