Shettima Critiques ADC for Fake Membership Registrations

Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, criticized Nigeria's opposition parties during an interfaith iftar at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja. He specifically targeted the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accusing it of spreading falsehoods and engaging in political hypocrisy.

Shettima claimed that the ADC's advocacy for electronic transmission of election results raised credibility questions, particularly after the party launched an online portal for membership registration that he alleged was compromised by fake names and fictitious identities. He extended his criticism to the opposition's general claims of misinformation, likening their tactics to those of rival political groups.

Shettima urged members to support the ruling party and remain loyal, asserting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) enjoys greater political stability compared to previous election periods. He also addressed recent defections to the APC, denying claims that governors pressured individuals to join, stating that those who joined did so voluntarily.
