Shettima Alleges Fake Identities in Opposition Portal

Kashim Shettima, the Vice President of Nigeria, has expressed alarm regarding the opposition party's membership registration portal, claiming it is flooded with fake names and fictitious identities. Speaking on behalf of President Bola Tinubu at an interfaith breakfast held at the State House, Shettima accused the opposition parties of hypocrisy amid their push for electronic transmission of votes.

He stated that misinformation has become a driving force for the opposition parties in the country. Shettima further emphasized that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is in a stronger political position as the 2023 general elections approach.

He also noted that recent defections to the APC were voluntary, countering any narratives suggesting coercion.
