Four Arrested in Jos Mob Killing of Model Ibrahim Mbaya

The Plateau State Police Command reported that six individuals were directly involved in the mob torture and killing of Ibrahim Mbaya, a model and University of Jos graduate, known as “Ibee.” On Tuesday, DSP Alfred Alabo, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, announced that four suspects had been arrested, while two remain at large. The police were alerted by a Good Samaritan about a young man in critical condition after a brutal assault, who later succumbed to his injuries.

Following this, detectives arrested three suspects, who confessed to their roles in the crime. A fourth suspect was subsequently apprehended, bringing the total in custody to four.

Alabo identified Emmanuel Newyear as a key suspect, allegedly seen assaulting the victim with a wooden plank. The investigation revealed that the suspects shared a common educational background, prompting collaboration with the National Association of Nigerian Students to identify and apprehend all involved.

The police reiterated their commitment to justice and warned against jungle justice.
