Suspected Phone Thieves Escape Mob Attack in Jos

On a recent afternoon in Jos, three suspected phone thieves, identified as Adam Yahaya (31), Abubakar Umar (50), and Fatima Adam, were involved in an incident where they allegedly attacked a female passenger on a tricycle, using a knife to steal her phone. The victim raised an alarm, prompting local residents to mobilize and apprehend the suspects.

However, an angry mob attempted to lynch them. Vigilantes intervened, saving the suspects from the mob's wrath.

The Plateau State Police Command, represented by SP Alabo Alfr, confirmed the incident and stated that the suspects confessed to the crime. They were taken into custody and moved to the police station for further investigation.

The incident highlights a rising trend of phone thefts in the area, with residents expressing their concerns over safety.
