Suspect Confesses to Murdering Ogun Broadcaster Oyesiku

Sodeind Olajuwon Phillip, the prime suspect in the murder of Olakitan Oyesiku, a retired broadcaster with Ogun State Television (OGTV), confessed that he killed her due to financial need. Oyesiku, known as "Aunti Kitan," was found dead in her home in Agodo Village, Abeokuta, on Saturday afternoon, June 21, 2026.

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, reported that a handwritten note was discovered at the crime scene, providing critical evidence. Olajuwon, a former security guard, admitted to contacting Oyesiku for money even after leaving her employment.

He, along with two other suspects, Shakirudeen Abdulraheem and Pelumi Adetayo, was arrested following an intensive investigation. The suspects allegedly used a hammer and a cutlass during the crime, and the police recovered various items linked to the murder.

The investigation revealed a troubling pattern of violence related to employment disputes in Nigeria.
