Sokoto University Dismisses Staff Over NYSC Fraud

Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto has taken decisive action against staff misconduct by dismissing Malam Garba Ahm, who was found guilty of illegally uploading the names of unqualified students for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilization. This decision was made during the university's 176th Governing Council meeting held on April 1, 2026.

The university's Director of Public Relations, Ismaila Moham Yauri, confirmed the dismissal, which takes immediate effect. This action underscores the institution's firm stance against misconduct and its commitment to maintaining integrity within Nigeria's higher education sector.

The university has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards serious gross misconduct and warned that staff engaging in similar acts will face strict disciplinary measures.
