Soldiers Prevent Terrorist Attack at Benue Yam Market

On a recent operation, soldiers from the Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Stroke successfully foiled a terrorist attack at the Tor Donga Yam Market in Benue State. The operation, which was conducted in collaboration with the Benue State Civil Protection Guard, was initiated following a distress call.

Troops engaged with the terrorists, resulting in the neutralization of two suspects identified as Dantaraba and Golozo. During the operation, the soldiers recovered significant items including two AK-47 rifles, magazines, a damaged pistol, and various rounds of ammunition.

The military emphasized the success of the operation in ensuring the safety of traders and residents, allowing commercial activities at the market to continue without fear of disruption. Maj.

Gen. Mose Gara commended the troops for their professional and swift response, which prevented potential civilian casualties and disruption of economic activities.

He also praised the cooperation with the Benue State Civil Protection Guard and urged the public to continue supporting security agencies.
