Soldiers Arrest Three Suspected Arms Dealers in Abia

Soldiers from the 14 Brigade Nigerian Army conducted a security operation in Arochukwu Local Government Area, Abia State, resulting in the arrest of three suspected arms dealers: Franci Ifer (37), Oso Kalu (40), and Ifer Oti (32). The operation, carried out in the early hours of Sunday, was based on credible intelligence regarding the proliferation of arms and ammunition in the community.

During the operation, the troops recovered seven locally fabricated Dane guns and twenty-two live cartridges, which were found on a motorcycle believed to belong to Stephen Kalu, who reportedly fled the area. The operation is part of the Nigerian Army's ongoing efforts to combat illegal arms proliferation and enhance security across the state.

The 14 Brigade headquarters reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining aggressive security operations in collaboration with security agencies to ensure peace and stability in Abia State.
