Soldiers Rescue Three Kidnap Victims in Katsina

On Thursday, September 3, 2026, troops from Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force North West, under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, successfully rescued three kidnap victims during an operation along the Dandume-Sheme Road in Dandume Local Government Area, Katsina State. The rescue followed a distress call from local residents who reported the activities of suspected terrorists in the area.

Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, stated that the troops, in collaboration with personnel from the Nigeria Police, swiftly mobilized to the scene. Upon engagement, the terrorists were overwhelmed and fled into the surrounding bush, abandoning the kidnapped victims.

The operation also led to the recovery of two vehicles used by the terrorists. The rescued victims and the vehicles were handed over to the Divisional Police Officer in Dandume for further action.

Danja emphasized the commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to ensuring safety in the region and urged residents to remain vigilant.
