Ortom Affirms Strong Ties with Wike Amid Disagreements

Samuel Ortom, the former Governor of Benue State, addressed rumors regarding a fallout with Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). During an appearance on Arise Television on Tuesday, Ortom stated that while he and Wike sometimes argue, they continue to have a close relationship.

He expressed his commitment to Wike, referring to him as a national leader. Ortom was a prominent member of the G5 Governors, also known as the Integrity Group, which formed within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the lead-up to the 2023 general elections.

This group included Wike, Ortom, Seyi Makinde (Governor of Oyo State), and former governors Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.
