Son Arrested for Allegedly Killing 80-Year-Old Father

The Katsina State Police Command has arrested Sada Tambai, a 27-year-old man, for the alleged killing of his 80-year-old father, Adamu Tambai, in Bindawa Local Government Area. The incident took place in Mundadu Village, where Adamu, a former Ward Head, was found lying motionless in front of his residence.

The District Head of Bindawa, Dan Yusufan Katsina, reported the incident to the Bindawa Divisional Police Headquarters on September 21, 2026, at approximately 12 noon. Following the report, police detectives were dispatched to the scene, and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.

Preliminary investigations led to Sada's arrest, during which he allegedly confessed to striking his father on the head with a stick, resulting in fatal injuries. The Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Umar Fage, has ordered the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough investigation, with plans for Sada to be arraigned in court after the investigation is completed.
