Bishop Kundi Mourns 27 Victims of Kaduna Attack

Most Rev. Julius Yakubu Kundi, the Catholic Bishop of Kafanchan Diocese, expressed deep sorrow over the failure of authorities to protect residents following the mass burial of 27 victims from a deadly attack in Naridon village, Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The funeral, held on Saturday, included grieving families, priests, traditional leaders, and community members. Bishop Kundi emphasized that the victims died needlessly and criticized the government and security agencies for their inaction.

He intentionally arranged the coffins to serve as a stark reminder of the consequences of insecurity. The attack occurred last Sunday at approximately 11 p.m., when suspected terrorists invaded the village, indiscriminately firing on sleeping residents, setting homes ablaze, and abducting individuals.

This incident has underscored the precarious security situation in the region, where communities frequently endure violence, kidnappings, and destruction of property.
