SROL Launches Youth Transport Scheme with Minibuses

Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROL), a subsidiary of Thor Explorations Ltd. and operator of Nigeria’s first large-scale commercial gold mine, has expanded its Youth Empowerment Transport Scheme by handing over nine commercial minibuses as part of its 2026 Youth Empowerment Programme. This second phase builds on the initial scheme, aiming to increase income-generating opportunities in host communities.
Beneficiaries from Iperindo, Odo-Ijesha, and Imogbara received three minibuses each to establish commercial transportation businesses. Additionally, SROL provided business support to previous beneficiaries, including Kayode Temitope from Imogbara, who received a generator, and Akinrotimi Seun Michael from Iperindo, who received materials and a filing machine.
Sikiru Haruna, the Mines Manager at SROL, emphasized the company's commitment to sustainable community development. Beneficiary James Adejugbagbe expressed gratitude for the life-changing opportunity the vehicle represents.
The Youth Empowerment Programme is implemented under SROL’s Community Development Agreement, which promotes sustainable livelihoods and socio-economic development in Osun State.
