Wike's Aide Critiques Bode George's Political Conduct

Lere Olayinka, the media aide to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, criticized Bode George, the ex-Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for his behavior in the political arena. In a statement, Olayinka suggested that George should exhibit maturity that comes with age, particularly as he served as Military Governor of the old Ondo State in 1988.

Olayinka accused George of embarrassing himself and the Yoruba race by frequently appearing on television to criticize younger politicians. He challenged George to demonstrate the achievements of his leadership in Lagos State, noting that since 1999, George has not won his polling unit for the PDP.

Olayinka emphasized that while respect for elders is a cultural norm in Yorubaland, it is conditional upon the elder's behavior. He urged George to act in accordance with the dignity expected of someone of his age, stating that at 81, he should have outgrown immature conduct.
