APC Chieftain Urges Opposition to Stop Attacks on Tinubu

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, criticized opposition leaders for recycling allegations against President Bola Tinubu, particularly claims regarding a reopened drug-trafficking case in the United States. He described these allegations as political propaganda intended to distract Nigerians.

Oyintiloye stated that no U.S. court has reopened or ordered a criminal retrial against Tinubu, nor has any American judge declared him guilty of drug trafficking. He clarified that the controversy stems from a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit seeking access to records from U.S. law enforcement, not a criminal prosecution.

He accused the opposition of misleading the public and urged them to focus on offering credible alternatives for governance instead of engaging in personal attacks. Oyintiloye emphasized the importance of distinguishing between allegations and proven facts, advocating for a political discourse centered on ideas and policies rather than character attacks.
