Ondo Police Arrest Suspected Kidnapper After Chase

On May 5, 2026, the Ondo State Police Command arrested a suspected kidnapper named Adegbenro Adeola following an incident where the victim, identified as Kayod Alaba, was pushed from a moving vehicle. The police, during a routine patrol along Oba Il Axi, received intelligence about a distress situation involving a man inside a moving vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers spotted a red Toyota Camry, from which they heard shouts for help. The police swiftly mobilized to pursue the suspect's vehicle.

During the chase, the suspect reportedly forced the victim out of the vehicle in an attempt to escape. The police continued their pursuit and successfully apprehended Adeola, while his accomplices fled the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had been abducted from his residence along Ires Road in Akur. The police provided medical attention to the victim and transferred the case to the Violent Crime Response Unit in Akur for further investigation and efforts to apprehend the fleeing accomplices.

The police urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to support security operations in the state.
