SWAN Mourns Passing of NFRA President Mallam Sani Zubairu

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) issued a letter of condolence on Tuesday, mourning the death of Mallam Sani Zubairu, the President of the Nigeria Football Referees Association (NFRA). SWAN President Mr.

Isaiah Benjamin and Secretary General Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo highlighted Zubairu's distinguished leadership and significant impact on the development of refereeing in Nigerian football.

They described him as a dedicated and passionate leader who was a pillar of the game, contributing immensely to the growth and credibility of the refereeing profession in Nigeria. SWAN extended heartfelt condolences to the entire NFRA family and Zubairu's family, expressing solidarity during this difficult time.

They emphasized that Zubairu would be deeply missed by colleagues and stakeholders in the football ecosystem. His burial was scheduled for later on Tuesday in Bauchi, following Islamic rites.
