Kaduna State Launches ₦34 Billion Flood Control Project

On a recent date, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a ₦34 billion flood and gully erosion control project in Rigasa Tudun Wada. This initiative aims to significantly reduce flood risks and safeguard homes in the area, which has faced severe environmental challenges over the decades.

The governor emphasized that the project represents a commitment to environmental protection and is central to the development agenda of the Kaduna State Government. Alongside the project, a ₦2 billion compensation cheque was presented to residents affected by the construction, reflecting the administration's dedication to fair processes and community trust.

The project spans approximately 17 kilometers and is designed to address the persistent flooding and erosion that have caused hardship for local families. Governor Sani's administration aims to ensure that affected families are not unfairly disadvantaged and that their rights are protected during the development process.
