Tension in Oyo APC Over Controversial Candidates List

Tension has escalated within the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the emergence of a controversial list of purported consensus candidates for future elections. The list, which surfaced over the weekend, allegedly includes names of candidates selected for various positions, including governorship, deputy governorship, senatorial, and House of Representatives roles.

Notable names on the list include Sharafadeen Alli, who is suggested as the gubernatorial candidate, and Soji Adedeji Ogbomoso, the deputy governorship candidate. The list also mentions Aderemi Oseni for the Oyo South senatorial district and Yunu Akintund for the Oyo Central senatorial seat.

However, many aspirants have expressed dissatisfaction with the list, claiming it undermines internal democracy within the party. The APC's public secretary has labeled the list as fake and misleading, stating that an investigation is underway to uncover the source of the circulation.

He reassured party members that no official list of candidates exists at this stage of the election process.
