Terrorists Attack Benue Communities, Causing Casualties

On Sunday, terrorists suspected to be herdsmen attacked communities in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State, specifically targeting Mbaterem, Ayaba, Ikpur, Yina, Aboajio, and Ukpen in Mbazun Ward. The attack occurred in the early hours, leading to the deaths of some residents and injuries to others.

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia commended the prompt response of security agencies and expressed condolences to the families of the victims. In a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia emphasized his commitment to protecting the people of Benue and vowed to support security agencies in their efforts.

He warned those undermining the peace process and urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities. The attack is part of a series of violent incidents in Benue State, highlighting ongoing security challenges in the region.
