Tinubu's 90-Day Security Plan Receives Support

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the preparation of a National Threat Assessment and a rolling five-year Strategic Defence Operations Plan, which is to be completed within 90 days. The Coalition of Patriots for Security Sector Reforms (CPSSR) welcomed this initiative, viewing it as a timely effort to enhance coordination, resource allocation, and operational effectiveness in Nigeria's security architecture.

The CPSSR, through its National Coordinator Dr Salisu Attah, stated that the 90-day timeline should be seen as an opportunity to consolidate existing security frameworks rather than merely producing another strategy document. An 11-member committee has been appointed for this task, coordinated by Major General Adeyinka Famadewa (Rtd), the President's Special Adviser on Homeland Security, who has over three decades of military and intelligence experience.

The coalition emphasized that this initiative aims to clarify how existing strategies and resources fit together, rather than rendering current security strategies obsolete.
