Big Tent Coalition Challenges Tinubu's 2027 Candidacy

The Big Tent Coalition, under the leadership of Prof. Pat Utomi, has publicly criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) for demanding that Peter Obi withdraw from the 2027 presidential race. This demand is based on a discredited claim regarding $123.77 million in external loans.

Charles Odibo, the Director of Media and Communications for the Coalition, stated that the APC's reliance on false accusations reflects its desperation and failure to address its own record. The Coalition pointed out discrepancies in President Bola Tinubu's personal biography and criticized the administration for failing to improve key human development indices since taking office in 2023.

They highlighted issues such as declining education standards, worsening healthcare, rising poverty and unemployment, and deteriorating infrastructure. Odibo emphasized that instead of showcasing achievements, the APC resorts to creating scandals.

He questioned why Tinubu is still contesting the 2027 elections, given his own pledge to deliver uninterrupted electricity supply, which remains unfulfilled.
