Melaye to Challenge Adedeji's Campaign Role in Court

Dino Melaye, a former Senator representing Kogi West and a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, has announced his intention to legally challenge the appointment of Zacch Adedeji as Deputy Director of Fundraising in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 2027 Presidential Campaign Council. Melaye argues that Adedeji's position as Chairman of the Nigerian Revenue Service, which oversees national revenue collection, creates a conflict of interest.

He expressed his concerns in a video posted on his official X account, criticizing Tinubu for chairing the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council while also being the party's presidential candidate. Melaye described this dual role as unprecedented and indicative of a lack of confidence within the ruling party.

He plans to file his lawsuit on Monday, asserting that Adedeji's involvement in the campaign violates public service ethics and guidelines.
