Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi Leads Lagos Against Domestic Violence

Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, known as “The Merchant of Hope,” has dedicated over 15 years to public service, focusing on policy, law, and social welfare. As the pioneer Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), she oversees a team of over 100 professionals addressing Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).

Established in 2021 following Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s assent to the law, the DSVA aims to create a robust system for preventing violence and supporting survivors. Vivour-Adeniyi's approach integrates survivor support, advocacy, and public education, including her authored books on related topics.

As September marks Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness Month, her leadership emphasizes the need for greater awareness and collective action against abuse. The agency has evolved from merely receiving complaints to actively collaborating with various stakeholders, including government institutions, schools, and civil society, to enhance its response to domestic and sexual violence.
