AI Innovations Transforming Community Healthcare in Nigeria

Saliu Abdul Rasheed Abiola, Co-Founder and Head of Research and Partnerships at Femin9, is leading initiatives to transform community healthcare in Nigeria using artificial intelligence. He is developing a culturally tailored digital women’s health platform aimed at improving access to reproductive healthcare and strengthening patient education.

Abiola founded the Community Health and Reproductive Health Initiative in partnership with ZainHeric Healthcare Services UK, focusing on health education programs across Ogun State. The initiative addresses sexual and reproductive health, maternal healthcare, child nutrition, hygiene, and preventive healthcare through community outreach.

It has provided maternal hygiene education to women, sexual behavior education to adolescents, and nutrition education to parents. Abiola advocates for the integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare to enhance decision-making and access to accurate health information.

Additionally, through the Future Makers Tour, he introduces students in Ogun, Osun, and Lagos states to artificial intelligence and digital careers, preparing them with future-ready skills to tackle societal challenges.
