Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist in Kebbi State

On May 26, 2023, troops from the 8 Division Tactical Headquarters conducted an operation in Kebbi State, resulting in the arrest of a suspected terrorist in the Shanga Local Government Area. The arrest occurred around 11:00 AM as the suspect attempted to board a vehicle near Tungan Giwa Village.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect resided in the Rugan Dikko Shehu Fulani settlement along Geromasa Yauri Road. Security sources disclosed that the operation recovered photographs allegedly showing the suspect with sophisticated weapons.

Additionally, a memory card from the suspect's phone is under examination. The suspect is currently in military custody as investigations continue.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by the troops to deny terrorist freedom of movement and dismantle criminal networks in Kebbi State, which is located in the northwest region of Nigeria.
