Troops Overrun Terrorist Hideouts in Kebbi, Recover Arms

Troops from the 8 Division, under Operation Fansan Yanma, successfully overran suspected terrorist hideouts in the Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State on May 20. Following intelligence reports about terrorist activities in the area, the troops advanced towards a suspected hideout located around Shadadi Village.

The operation involved a fierce exchange of gunfire, supported by drone surveillance, which enabled the troops to overpower the terrorists. During the operation, the troops recovered a magazine loaded with 15 rounds of 7.62 x 39mm ammunition and three motorcycles believed to be used by the terrorists.

Several life support structures utilized by the criminals within the enclave were destroyed during the offensive. A military source disclosed that one soldier sustained a gunshot wound during the encounter but was stabilized and moved for further medical attention.

This operation is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist and bandit networks operating in parts of North West Nigeria.
