Troops Arrest Five Suspected Kidnappers in Borno

Troops from the Joint Task Force North East arrested five suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate in Magumeri Local Government Area, Borno State. This operation was conducted as part of the ongoing Operation Hadin Kai, aimed at combating terrorism and criminal activities in the northeast region.

The troops acted on credible intelligence and coordinated operations along known criminal corridors, leading to the arrests. During the operation, they recovered two AK-47 rifles and ammunition, which helped disrupt the criminal network capable of further violence.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects were linked to kidnapping activities within parts of Borno State. The arrested individuals are currently in custody, assisting security agencies with further investigations aimed at apprehending other members of the syndicate and dismantling their support network.

The Nigerian Army reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and properties and maintaining peace and security across the country.
