Troops Recover Boko Haram Items After Failed Attack

On September 2, 2026, troops of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, conducted follow-up operations after a failed terrorist attack on their position in Kukawa, Borno State. According to Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer, the troops recovered various items belonging to Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in the Alagarno axis.

The recovered items included motorcycles, blankets, a jackknife, a prayer mat, cups, tea-making items, a rope, a head warmer, and bloodstained trousers. The presence of bloodstained clothing indicated that the fleeing terrorists had sustained casualties during the earlier encounter, forcing them to abandon some of their equipment and personal belongings.

The recovery followed a successful repulsion of the terrorist attack, where coordinated ground and air operations inflicted significant losses on the attackers. Captain Goni assured the public that the Joint Task Force remains committed to maintaining operational pressure on terrorist elements to restore peace and security in the North-east.
