Troops Repel Bandits, Rescue Injured Girl in Katsina Attack

Nigerian Army troops, in collaboration with the police, successfully repelled a bandit attack in Soro Daya village, Katsina State, rescuing a 15-year-old girl named Nabiha Mani who had sustained a gunshot wound in the thigh. The incident occurred in Kankia Local Government Area on September 19, with the troops engaging the attackers in a fierce gun battle.

The bandits damaged a police Armoured Personnel Carrier during the encounter but were forced to retreat into the forest. The rescued girl was initially taken to the Comprehensive Health Centre in Matazu and later referred to the Orthopaedic Hospital in Katsina for further treatment.
