Troops Repel Terrorist Attacks in North-West Nigeria

On July 2, troops from the Joint Task Force North West, led by Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, engaged armed terrorists in Katsina State during a patrol at Amara Chakau Junction in Danmusa Local Government Area. The terrorists opened fire, but the troops responded with superior firepower, forcing the attackers to retreat.

During the operation, the troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, a magazine loaded with eight rounds of ammunition, and two motorcycles. In a separate operation around Sabon Gari Dantakeri village in Dutsinma Local Government Area, the troops, in collaboration with local security agencies, neutralized a terrorist attack and rescued Mr.

Mubarak Sharin, the district head of Farin Hawa village, who had been abducted. Additionally, in Zamfara State, troops stationed in Bukkuyum Local Government Area repelled another terrorist attack, recovering an AK-47 rifle, four magazines, and 35 rounds of ammunition.

These operations underscore the ongoing efforts to maintain pressure on terrorist networks in the North-West.
