Operation Fansan Yamma Recovers Rustled Cattle in Sokoto

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma successfully recovered a large herd of rustled cattle after intercepting suspected terrorists fleeing from the Asarara Kaura community in Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State. Acting on credible intelligence, the troops engaged the terrorists along the Tambuwal–Gadaichi–Gummi axis on Monday morning.

During the encounter, the terrorists opened fire but were forced to retreat into nearby bushes, sustaining gunshot wounds and abandoning the cattle. A military source confirmed that the recovered livestock has been taken into military custody for verification of ownership.

The source stated that the cattle would be returned to their rightful owners after proper verification, aiming to provide relief to the affected communities where cattle rustling has disrupted livelihoods. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of Operation Fansan Yamma to combat criminal activities and recover property taken by terrorists and other criminal elements in the North-West region.
