Troops Rescue 33 Kidnapped Passengers in Zamfara

On Saturday, troops rescued 33 kidnapped passengers in Zamfara after receiving credible information regarding their abduction by terrorists in the Magazu area. The operation was conducted by the Joint Task Force (JTF) North West, specifically under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, with Lt Col Aliyu Danja serving as the Media Information Officer.

The troops, in collaboration with personnel from the Nigeria Police Force deployed in Tsafe, quickly mobilized to the location. Upon making contact with the terrorists, the troops engaged them effectively, forcing the assailants to abandon the victims and flee into nearby bushes.

All 33 abducted passengers were rescued without any casualties. Following the successful operation, the troops began to exploit the area further and continued efforts to track down the fleeing terrorists.

The Theatre Commander of Operation FANSAN YAMMA commended the troops for their prompt response and professionalism, reaffirming the operation's commitment to protecting civilians and securing major transportation routes in the North-West.
