Troops Rescue Yabana from Terrorists in Borno

On September 9, troops from the 156 Task Force Battalion, in collaboration with the AHQ Intelligence Fusion Battalion and the Civilian Joint Task Force, rescued Yabana in Mainok, Kaga Local Government Area, Borno State. The rescue operation was initiated based on credible intelligence regarding suspected terrorist activities near Abasuri village.

Yabana had been abducted by insurgents while farming in the Gowo general area and spent over three months in captivity. He managed to escape on September 8, fleeing first to Barmalanti village before being intercepted by the joint security forces in Mainok.

Military authorities confirmed that Yabana would be handed over to intelligence personnel at the 29 Task Force Brigade for further debriefing and investigation before reuniting with his family. Following the successful operation, the troops returned safely to their blocking positions in Mainok.
